SHIITAKE - THE KING OF MUSHROOMS

Our Shiitake comes from China, where the traditional use of Shiitake began. We chose a highly dosed organic Shiitake extract (~14:1), so one capsule with 750 mg extract corresponds to 11150 mg of organic Shiitake powder. Moreover, the extract is derived from the fruiting body of the mushroom as this part is characterised by the highest amount of polysaccharides and glycoproteins, bioactive substances with various health benefits.

Standardised to 40% polysaccharides and 30% beta-glucans.

Shiitake is one of the most versatile and best-known medicinal mushrooms. It has been an integral part of traditional Chinese medicine for over 2000 years. The main reason is the high number of valuable ingredients, including polysaccharides, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. That's why our extract is standardised to 40% polysaccharides and 30% of the polysaccharide beta-glucan, the most important bioactive ingredients of Shiitake.

GOOD TO KNOW

Shiitake goes by many different names. The Latin name is Lentinula edodes, although in English they're sometimes known as black forest mushrooms or Chinese black mushrooms. The name shiitake is Japanese, meaning ""shii mushroom"". (Shii is the Japanese name for a type of evergreen tree on which the mushrooms often grow).
